Street Fighter 2, car cruncher thing
« on: August 25, 2010, 09:05:21 PM »
Hi all, I bought a couple of machines today (thanks to Oscar), one was a project street fighter 2....Ive already given it a bit of a clean and replaced globes and rubbers but the only thing I cant work out is the car crunch thing...there is a little flipper inside it and I assume there should be a ball inside too to smash into the car??? The machine has 4 balls in it, I cannot work out how a ball would get into that section other than to pull it all to bits or am I missing something here???

Thanks

thanks for the reply.......would you know if the ball is the same size as the others and is there an easy way to get the ball inside the car cruncher (should the machine do it automatically?) or will I have to pull the whole cruncher assy out to put a ball in? Thanks

Yep....turned out there was a fault in the optoelectronics and the car return springs were missing, I'd say that's why it was missing its ball

Thanks

Howdy all,
Loving my Street Fighter pinball now that I got it all working, but the car crush feature has now stopped working.

I have reset it manually and I play the feature and when it gets to winner, the car doesn't reset.

Last night I took the car crush housing out of the machine and noted the opto switch at the back to detect the car, a microswitch that closes and a small solenoid that fires to push the car back into place. Having trouble sorting out how to rectify my problem and what I'm actually looking for.

Does anyone have any advice on this or have photos or know of some online that show the car crush mechanism without the car attached? There's also four screw holes in front of the car when you remove the plastic car. Wondering if someone has removed something previously.

Cheers!
Adam.
