QUESTION REGARDING TRIACS
« on: August 30, 2010, 05:41:52 PM »
Well ive given up waiting on the pros to get back to me in regards to this jukebox so im going to have a crack myself.

All resistors check out ok but one gets very hot and the motor for the magazine doesnt have the strength to rotate.  All voltages are correct so im asuming its the Triac giving me the issues.     After many hours of searching ive found RS components has a

TIC226D available but the manual shows it needing a TIC226B

After downloading the Data Sheet ive found out that the B and D represent

VDRM Repetitive peak off-state voltage
a=200v b=300v c=400v d=500v

Can anyone tell me if the D will be ok to substitute in place of the B???

Yes - as the D has a higher operating limit. You should not use an A
Replacement Pinball PCBs that remain faithful to the originals
