Capcom Breakshot
« on: October 18, 2010, 02:02:55 PM »

I recently bought some titles out of a private collection, to add to my collection. One of the games is a Capcom Breakshot. I've always wanted a Pinball Magic, and after seeing pictures of a Breakshot, I just HAD to have one. It was in storage until I had room in the gamesroom. I moved it into the gamesroom yesterday and I thought I'd share some pictures !

The condition of the game is Collector's Quality. It plays like new, and is a BLAST to play. A simple machine, intentionally designed ( by Greg Kmiec ), to have a "retro" feel to it. It plays and looks like an EM. No ramps or toys to speak of, but when you are playing it, it sounds like you have a couple of babes watching you play the machine. The humor is really cool, and the ladies tell you what ball to shoot as you play 9 Ball or Bar Billiards (advancing through the modes). It has two large flippers and a mini flipper in the top right hand corner. A captive ball and the main feature is a "breakshot". Shoot all three balls into the three holes for multiball. There is an up post that pops up after the first and second ball are in the left and right side ball holes. Shoot the third ball in the center hole and you have multiball. One of the coolest shot is when two balls are resting against the up post (when up), you hit the up post with the third ball, and BOTH balls are shot into the LHS and RHS holes ! A really fun shot !

Billiard theme, with retro artwork (plenty of eye pleasing images), and an EM layout. This is a real "players" title and I already love playing it.

Here's some pictures ;

I've already sourced new targets and target decals to "freshen" up the game. I've never been impressed with a title as much as this machine. Really pleased to add it to my collection - Enjoy the pictures !

Looks very nice Nino, great condition, hasn't seen much play by the look of things.  Wouldn't be too many of these around I wouldn't think.  Thanks for sharing. ^^^

Great looking game, and being familiar with the way Capcom games play, I imagine a lot of fun. Look forward to playing one of these, it's the only Capcom game (besides Kingpin of course) I haven't played.

This machine is great to play...and a great showcase as to how nice the Capcom's are..Nino knows how much I want one of these!

Nino - if you're able to take a video of some gameplay - I guess many would never of seen one of these in the wild!  - Make sure to include the match sequence please!!!!!

Will do - once I work out my new fancy camera !

Has an "end of game" animation where the moose uses a billiard cue as some sort of martial art weapon - Funniest thing I've seen on a pinball for ages ! Can't stop playing it.

Can't find the animation on the net anywhere... :(

Did find this though: (From "cows and easter eggs")

Capcombo: Shoot around the Mini-loop, and then backwards around the right orbit to the rollover-lanes. You will now see a moose kick a cow in the behind.

The playfield ball rack lights intermittently spell out T, O, N, Y (Tony Defeo was one of the engineers). TONY also flashes during attract mode.
A flipper button sequence (which I don´t know of) encodes Tony´s birthday and starts a freak-out mode with video animation (involving Tony´s face), lights and solenoid pops.

At the end of a game, hold both flippers before and during the moose animation for a fun sound effect.
