Looks like you need to burn a set of english roms. The files can be downloaded from the Stern website. http://www.sternpinball.com/GAME-code.shtml
Not sure if you need the whole set, probably just the display rom.

I think you should be right to just do the display rom.

Don't think the German ruleset would be any different to English. !@#

I have a FRANKENSTEIN. I reckon try n see if shutting the coin door changes it, or keep the coin door open but press the switch in on the door that the coin door would normally close, and u shld then have access to the menu settings.

Without checking mine, I am sure you can navigate the menu settings by using flippers n start button etc with coin door interlock switch closed.
Give that a try n come back to me if it doesnt work, and i will go out to my FRANKY and have a good look. (I have to replace some fuses this next day or so cause mine blew a fuse yesterday and i cant start mine properly til i change out a few fuses, otherwise i would tell u straight away if my coin door switch theory is correct or not).  ^^^

i downloaded a cabinet schematic this morning and noticed there should be a memory lock switch.ah.so i find the blk/red wire and find it tied into white wires with a crude connector screww block.unscrewwed the wire and its all go now.was a tricky fault to find. $#$ #*#

later today i noticed that a door switch was missing, only had 1.this switch would have been open when coin door was opened allowing acces to change the settings.now i just have to find a door switch to get it back to what it should be.
