WHAT THE f**k DID I DO WRONG TO DESERVE ALL THIS SHIT
« on: March 29, 2011, 09:50:50 PM »
Sorry guys just had to vent sick to f**king death of the nice guys finishing last.     Basically 2011 has been completely f**ked and just as it's looking up I try do the right thing and get f**ked over again grrrr..

Had a guy offer me what I thought was good money for my Revenge from Mars.   He would have been happy to take it with him but I wanted to give it a once over before I let him have it.   Moved it out of the line up an opened it up to double check the CPU fan switched it on and it's dead as a door nail........    Tried reseating everything all cables checked and i even replaced the power supply still dead...

Don't know whats worse when that happens or when the new owner calls after two weeks, complaining about the machine not working.

Sorry to hear that mate, you are the last person to deserve the run of luck lately. Anyway, luck evens itself out in the long run - time for a Tatts ticket!!

Ahh, no good Daniel.

Well, as its just a PC I'd be trying a few things first...Did ya hit the red button on the front of the metal box for the CPU!!! (I learnt the hard way)..

Is the PSU actually powering up (ie fan in power supply)?  If not, then its probably something simple.

Did you switch the computer power supply to 110v?  Are you getting 110v at the PSU?

Can you get the PC to boot out of the machine (on 220v)?

Daniel, I am sad to see u selling it. Not many pin2000 owners around really. But a change is a change.

I know how u feel, I went to my FRANKENSTEIN pinball tonight, and the DMD didnt come on, the general lights are on, but nothing else works and its the first time in 3 years this pin has ever played up. I know it will be a fuse, but it gives u the shits when these pins decide to give some back.

Hope the RFM fires up tomorrow for you. If i can help anyway by throwing a multi-meter over my RFM for ya, give me a yell.  ^^^

Sorry to hear Daniel, never even seen a Pin2000 so I'm not much help.
Plenty of CPU driven shit at work but you have covered the bases with
Reseating and rebooting. Hope it all turns out good as you help plenty of
others and should have a stack of good karma to call on.

Cheers
Dave

Thanks for all the replies guy ad a massive thanks to MartyJ.   Damn Psu was set for 240 which is why all the voltages were one on the bench never would have thought of that.

Rfm is now running again and as much as I don't want it to go (Damn bills) I'll be happy knowing that I've done all I can so the new owner can enjoy this great game.

Good on ya Marty !

Daniel - trust me, it happens to the "best of us". It is almost like the machine is trying to REFUSE to leave your gamesroom. As mentioned, it is much better that the issue was in your gamesroom, than the new owner. First impressions often lead to the buyer being a repeat customer.

Chin up (watch that clothesline), and enjoy the games. Step away if it is taking up too much of your time. The machines will always be there when you return.

really glad you got it fixed mate!  I know the feeling ... finally put my EM back together after many, many hours of renovation.  Worked perfectly first time off and then  .. score motor running non stop, credits not accumulating ..... bloody hell.  Back to square one  @.@
