Playfield Restoration - Roll over switch tip
« on: January 30, 2009, 02:34:02 PM »
Here is a little tip that I've used several times when doing restorations. It’s not rocket science and i'm sure many other people have used a similar method but may be handy for those who are about to delve into their first resto.

When stripping a playfield such as TZ which has heaps of roll over switches, instead of labelling and removing them all; I simply took a soft earplug rolled it up and inserted near the switch body.  When the earplug expands it holds the switch arm below the playfield making cleaning and polishing easy.

That's what I love about the "community" - 100 "small tips" all added together makes for an easier job of repairing or restoring a pin.

Great tip!!  Those plugs are also good for plugging up lamp socket holes (any small holes actually when clear coating playfields.

Could give it a go, might take a while to collect enough to cover the playfield though  !@#
