Flipper blows fuse in bally lost world

Hi my name is Jack, l'm doing up a Bally lost world 1978 pinny,have got it almost all working .last hurdle to get over though is the flippers don't want to work properly.l though it was a contact problem,by checking contacts and basicly just mucking around with soleniod driver board J pionts the right hand side flipper started to work but when l pushed the left hand flipper in it blew the F4 fuse (5A 32V3AG ) on the rectifier board. Has anyone had the same problems or can help me out with some clues as electronics is not my strong piont,  Have got a Trident stern 1979 as well and have been maintaining it for some years so l do have some clues but this one has got me stuck at the moment. cheers Jack R.

First up, make sure its a SLOW BLOW  fuse you have in there... fast will do just that, blow real fast

Have you checked the coil resistance?

If it blows as soon as the flipper is activated it is likely to be a bad flipper coil.  If it blows after a second or two of holding it on, the end of stroke switch may not be opening (this should be pushed open by the arm on the flipper crank when the flipper is engaged).

Another thing you could check would be the Diode on the coil...
