U.S. MAIL TAKES FOREVER TO DELIVER MY ORDER
« on: August 29, 2011, 06:05:58 PM »
i placed an order for $210 worth of components from great plains electronics on the 2/8/11 and still have not received my order yet.
but i placed a second order on the 7/8/11 and it arrived here over a week ago  !@#

Even though the item is insured it is still a pain in the but because as far as the U.S. Mail tracking is concerned it hasn't left the U.S. yet.
I asked great plains to see if they can track it down for me but they have told me just to wait until it turns up and told me they can't put in an insurance claim until 7 weeks has passed.

I usually order my parts from suppliers in  Australia, the parts are a little more expensive but at least most of them arrive the next day and if not within 7 days at the latest.

I have spoken to Australia post and they have informed me there is a delay with packages coming from the U.S. and some people have been waiting since mid July.
What a Joke.

So is there any one else having problems with U.S. mail?

My latest US stuff:
Posted 18/8   here 25/8
posted 17/8   here  not yet
posted 9/8   here  29/8
posted 17/8   here  not yet

Hard to work out their system but I normally expect stuff in a week to 10 days.

Its also hard to work out their tracking, some stuff is like you said only shows lodgement, others is step by step till you sign for it.
If its any consolation, I have never had a package go permanently missing from the USA.
Cheers
Lets go Brandon!

Ed is a great guy and after several lost packages, he had no choice but to send international items insured. He will sort out the claim for you. I had one package lost and he sorted it out for me without an issue. Even thought it is insured, you do have to wait - that's standard policy and a risk we take if we want to save money buying overseas.

My last two odrers out of the USA ;

littleshopofgames - Order July 6th - arrived Juky 15th via USPS insured
PBR - Order July 21st - Arrived Aug 2nd via USPS

Out of the USA / Canada usually takes 10 working days.

I once had an order from PBR that arrived 4 months late and had a corner of the packaging broken, and it had coffee beans stuffed inside it  !@#

thanks for the info guys,

And as far the coffee beans go, either some one used your package to smuggle some naughty things into the country (The beans are used to put the dogs off the smell of the naughty things, If you believe what they say in the movies  #@# ) or your package was damaged and managed to be under a box with coffee beans in it that was also damaged and the beans "fell" into your box.

Well thats 2 scenarios any way  :lol .

I often place orders with pinball life and they tend to arrive within 7 to 10 days.
But my last order placed just recently took close to 4 weeks
It seems to me that the postal service has definitely slowed down

I had a Docent order sent a couple of Months ago.
The first one still hasn't arrived, however Eric resent and the second one got here in just over 5weeks.

I have another order for stepper motors. 3 parcels, 2 of the 3 arrived (a couple of weeks ago). I have till Wed to put in the paypal claim for the missing one.  The supplier says he will credit or resend to let him know in 4 days.  (when it is too late to put in a claim).
To convenient on the date, will put a claim in (if it doesn't show tomorrow)

My order from PBR arrived in less than 10 days. I ordered over $200 of stuff.
I have a mate in Detroit who sends me pinball dvds, etc via post. Usual delivery around 7 -10 days.
Wanted: GTB Aquarius backglass. Any playfield bits and backglasses from any EMs - nothing is junk to me.

As i said in the car the other day Andy, cancel the purchase via paypal, get your money credited straight back. Today ! Dont wait any longer.  !*!

If it turns up, then u can be honest and send the company money via paypal to make things right.  ^^^

Waiting for this package, without re-ordering it will be a BIG MISTAKE. It aint going to turn up, just re-order after your paypal money hits your account. I have never had anything in ten years take anymore than 14 days ever, and as u know with my Star Trek Collectables business, and my prior remote control car/plane ebay side business, I have had things sent from all over the world and I have never been farked around like you have. Waiting any longer will be a mistake.

How long do u wait before you give up, 3 months , 4 months, fark that, 14 days is my limit. Get a credit. Start again.  *%*
