Sinbad is Singood Condition.
« on: September 11, 2011, 06:27:31 PM »
So starts another cleanup.....

You may recall the Sinbad machine that was recently on eBay?  Well, I got it home today.

I gave it a very quick clean here and there to see what I am going to be up against.  I am going to have to replace several very cooked coils as well as some transistors and some drop targets.  The MPU has major battery damage which is a real shame, the rest of the board is in really really nice condition.  Overall for the $$$$ I am very happy with the machine.  I am also going to have to get a lock down bar, plastics set, chimes plungers (at least the chimes are there) and the normal other bits and pieces like rubbers, lane guides, globes etc etc.

The pics will probably tell a better story.  The playfield is going to come up nice with only one insert that has dropped enough to be a problem.  There are a few spots here and there where the artwork has flaked off with a bit of a rub - to be expected I spose considering the thing has sat for over 10 years with no playfield glass and no love and attention.

Looks like that playfield is going to clean up really well Mitch.
BG is great too, except for that one area, unfortunately.
What did you snag this for again?
I need more room ! and more $$$

Yeah the backglass was too good to be true.  I will give it a light clean and seal it though so it isn't going to get any worse.  Still good colour in it though.

Looks like it will clean up very nicely Blair , lucky to have some mylar on the playfield that's been protecting it.

The corrosion doesn't look too bad ,i've fixed them with worse.
The badly blown 7417 chip looks nasty though , might have traveled back and killed a spider.

You have a lot of projects on at the moment!

If anyone knows of any cheap plastics I'd be happy to hear about them.  PBR do have repro sets but they are a bit pricey at $93 for 6 plastics.

Thanks Nino.  Every single plastic is damaged in one way or another.  Happy to buy whatever you can spare off you.  I'd also be interested in a lock down bar if you know of any spares floating around somewhere.

Always a bit of a risk buying of ebay expecially with that amount of dirt sitting on the PF, but it looks like it will clean up nicely, well done  *%*

Yeah Peter, for the money I can't complain.  It isn't minty but it is in above average condition and looks like it will be a keeper to sit alongside Hulk.

Thanks very much Nino.  I will probably make up a list of bit and pieces I need for the machine and grab some stuff off PBR so I can always get one from there if needs be.
