I need a pair for my galaxy also, did a bit of searching but have not found anything specific to Bally/Stern machines so far.
Great plains electronics have some, might be worth contacting them. here is a link http://www.greatplainselectronics.com/Category-49.asp

I've made them up out of molex .100 housings before  ,crimping on terminals and using normal wires.
The earlier model Sterns used this type and they are very reliable , before they switched to the crappy ribbon cable type to save money i guess.
All the connections arn't used either on the SB100 boards  ,so you don't have to make up the whole lot of wires.
They do use most of them for the SB300 board though.

Could you just use the IDE cables from computers but only use or side?

In a pinch you should be able to. Just ensure the correct alignment  ^^^

That was the first thing we tried, didn't quite fit and so we filed them down a bit and taped 2 together, they worked but are EXTREAMELY sensitive and are a real hassle to take on and off

This cabling is a real pain.. i had many issues with the Wild Fyre i had.

Doesnt it twist over from MPU to sound board also?

I made my own up in the end.. didnt take long and was rock solid after that

Im currently doing the same thing for my Meteor. Original was Molex 0.1" spacing connectors. I've ordered these parts from Great Plain Electronics and are going to make a new cable like the original (single row). Only issue is I have had to buy a 24pin and a 10pin Molex connector for each end as you can't get a 34 pin. I'll post a picture once its done (parts haven't arrived yet).

Here is link to connector page at Great Plain Elec http://www.greatplainselectronics.com/Category-35.asp

Here are the parts for the cable I've bought. I just need to buy some wire to complete.

Part no., Name, Unit Price, Quantity, Total
22-01-2247 Connector, 0.1" Plug, 24 Pin   $1.30   2   $2.60
22-01-2107   Connector, 0.1" Plug, 10 Pin   $0.50   2   $1.00
22-28-4361   Connector, 0.1" Header, 36 Pin   $1.20   4   $4.80
08-52-0123   Crimp Contact, 0.1", Tin Plated Phosphor Bronze   $0.10   200   $20.00

B.T.W. They also have an electrolytic capacitor kit for the sounds board (and others) - saves searching. Plus they carry the big 12000uF Electrolytic for the 5V supply on the driver board (these are hard IMHO to find).

Hope that helps,

studley67 - had a "Light Bulb" Moment!

Noticed you are in ADL (So am I). The connector stuff I bought from Great Plains Elec is available form Aztronics in
170 Sturt Street
Adelaide SA 5000
(08) 8212 6212

I walked in there on Monday this week after placing the order  ::)  Only pain is they don't have the 24pin connector, you would need to use smaller.
Bit faster than waiting for the US shipment. These guys have header pins as well. Plus they sell a Molex cimping tool similar to the one I bought for $70ish - I paid $200 from Farnell... &^&
