Moto GP Rider Marco Simoncelli dead after crash
« on: October 24, 2011, 12:00:56 PM »
I was shocked yesterday when Moto GP rider Marco Simoncelli died in a race accident, he had been doing quite well this year with a couple of podiums and placing 2nd last week in the Philip Island race.
Sickening thoughts after seeing the crash to anyone, especially we motorcycle riders, but it is an adrenaline rush we all crave

RIP Marco

I still cant work out how his helmet came off ? these guys are doing up to 350 kilometres per hour and the helmets dont ever come off.

Was the chin strap loose or what ? never seen a helmet come off a professional bike rider ever.

He seemed like a real character and 24 yrs old is 40 years too early to pass away. I was shocked to see him killed. Bad situation no matter how you look at it. R.I P.

Yes, truly a sad day for motorcycle racing. What a character he was. He was only just warming up his career in the GP class.
A real champion of the future he was shaping up to be.
It's a tough job.
RIP Marco.
Ya just gotta luv an EM.
