about rail installation

ok ive been given plenty of tips on removal of rails for wcs 94 rails. however installation i have a question, do i need to run the double sided tape the entire length of the rails? i was going too origanlly but new rails turned up with three bits of tape already on them, doesnt go the entire length just sticks a in three spots up the rail, is that enough? i would have thought it would leave gaps up under the rails where there is no tape or is that of no concern?

I've taken off and put on around 15 sets over the past 18 months.  In order to install them correctly its best to have the length of tape running the full length of the rail.

I always remove the thin tape / small individual pieces and replace the lot with some automotive grade 20mm wide tape I sourced.

This ensures correct installation which keeps the rails neat and secure for my many customers.

As martyJ said go the full length of the rail for maximum strength (I do however leave the 'wings' at each end tapeless)

I use this tape:

One of these rolls will do two rails the length of the rail with plenty to spare.
