Transformers - no flipper button option
« on: December 11, 2011, 02:36:20 AM »
It seems that Transformers are shipping for Xmas
some US freinds have already opened theirs

Controlled lamps are now LED's

it seems there is the option to use the flippers without pressing buttons

Like playing a Wii, just bazaar, no nudging but at least the decal won't wear as fast near the buttons.

Hopefully they are not cost cutting with thinner cabinet decals.....

That's pretty cool but you will need an extra pair of hands to keep the ball in play when it's thinking about a side drain

Looks like an interesting home mod - bit more exercise than just the index finger!! Wonder if it could be made to work well enough to make it a fun alternative (maybe with special scoring when buttons not used?) Fascinating.

This could be closer than you think. Based on the youtube username and background I am fairly certain the vid in post 1 was filmed in a certain Sydney pinball distributors office.   ^^^

Just to add:
There could be a commercial release of this mod for other machines soon as well. There is a company in the US called Intersil where pinball mod queen Jeri Ellsworth is working on getting a similar mod released.

Youtube vid here: (the first 1 minute covers the hand movement mod and there are some other mods being worked on as well in the vid.)

Pinball is all about the physical interaction with the game. Why not just just remove the ball or play virtual pinball ?

Agreed - but at least I'd get more exercise!
