Hi all,
Just wanted to share a few pics of my new Paragon that I collected today. I had a lead on a very nice Paragon that had just arrived from the USA. My son and I drove a considerable distance this morning to take a look at it with a view of buying the machine. After a little negotiation, I went for it and bought it. I was not expecting to come into possession of this title for quite some time as a result of the rare nature of these machines, so when one became available, I knew I had to jump on it and worry about the cost later. I think I paid a little too much for the machine considering today's climate etc, however for a title that rarely becomes available, especially one that is in such great condition, I am happy with the purchase and would have regretted passing on it.
The machine overall is in unbelievable condition. The cabinet artwork is extremely bright for its age and there is very minimal fading. It just looks stunning. Mechanically, the machine is working 100% - everything is tested and working perfectly.
Coin door is straight, really really clean and all coin mechs are present and working perfectly. The interior of the cabinet is basically dust free with zero to very minimal dirt. I have not touched anything yet so the pics are as I received it. There are what looks like some watermarks on the base of the cabinet nearing the rear but structurally there is no damage whatsoever. I will sand these out and clean it all up
The undercarriage of the playfield is spotless and immaculate. The machine has been in storage in the US for 10 years I was told and everything just looks like its 1/2 restored / cleaned up underneath. No grot or grime at all.
The playfield has a few minor wear marks around the bottom inserts but its definitely not something I am concerned about or fussy etc. The remainder of the playfield has not been touched in 10 years and is in very good nic. Colours are very bright. I will clean this all up in time and wax for protection. One of the plastics has a chip outta it but I will obtain the repros from CPR when possible
The backglass is near mint! Just gorgeous. There is a tiny flake at the bottom right near the glass channel. Cannot even see it unless you are 3cm from it
The headbox is also in great condition and the artwork is bright just like the cabinet
The boards all look original, however someone has serviced the MPU and installed AA batteries on the board itself. I will be contacting good old Beaky re what to do there with a view of getting the Solenoid board and MPU serviced by him.
Hope you enjoy the pics as much as i did taking them........
