Proximity sensor problem

I have a STTNG, I bought it not working, after a couple of weeks I had it running good, I noticed the right in lane prox switch was not working, I did try to adjust the pot but the led would not light at all, the left prox switch was working fine, I decided to swap them over and the right one worked on the left side. didn't worry about it until this week, but when I decided to look into it I have found both prox switches don't work and the LEDs won't come on when the pots are adjusted.
If I disconnect the sensor from each board the LEDs will light and switch edge test registers on.
12 volt is ok at the connectors both sides.

Does anyone know anything about these eddy sensor boards, connectors are ok at the CPU

Beaky fixed mine very recently, and he has a STNG at his house. If he reads this i am sure he can help.

MartyJ is also a very good tech, he shld also read this and help in no time.  It will be an adjustment at the flipper end if my memory serves me correctly with how Andy fixed mine.

Cool, that sounds a bit strange, hope someone can sort it out, it has me stumped.

i have found some eddy sensors with faulty trimpots, the dreaded black dust seems to get into them.

I tested the pot with multimeter and the seemed fine

Repalce the trimpot

they can read fine but play up under load.
they are the first thing to eliminate when diagnosing a fault with the sensors

Great work guys, i changed the trimpots and the sensors are working again.
I only had some 20K pots so i thought i will give them a go, i will replace these as soon as possible.
I was convinced the original pots were working fine, but they were shit.

I bought two new 2K pots and installed them after work and they didn't work, so I put the 20K pots back in to make the sensors work again.

they need to be 10k pots, 20k will work but it is better to have the 10k ones installed

Thanks I will get some 10K pots and replace them at some stage.
