Playboy is pretty to look at but a snooze to play...

Flash and Gorgar on the other hand both share the same artist and i really really do not like his work, so no eye candy here.
But Flash tips Gorgar in the game department.

Flash is the winner

If you were a skateboarder in your youth a Skateball has some very similar layout features to a flash and has brighter art so it's my winner.

I played all 3 machines around Sydney after their release late 70s, early 80s. Playboy was my favourite in the art work department. Flash was the most challenging of the 3. Gorgar was a novelty with the speech, ball hold and heartbeat but the play field was slow and boring.
The problem with Flash is that it was too popular and the average machine in the pinball parlours was in a sad and worn state by 1982. To enjoy the challenge of Flash, the machine needs to be in perfect tune and working order.
In 1980, I bought a Flash from an operator and played it for about 3 years. The play field and cabinet are in original and very good condition. My Flash is in storage since 1984 and is probably one of few that is in original factory conditions, without any mods or touch-ups.
If you don't remember the 70s then you were on drugs.
If you remember playing pinball in the 70s you were having a good time.
If you don't remember anything,  then read about it here,

Flash by a mile. You only have to look at the games that followed, and ironically, Williams didn't develop the layout. Bally did. Look at both Skateball and Fathom. Very similar - especially Skateball. Fathom is an incredible player with in-line targets, and i think the layout is similar.

A properly restored Flash is an incredible "bang for buck" machine and easily Williams best system 4/6 player.

Flash graphics are awful. Back in 1980 I asked the operator for a Lost World which had brilliant art work. He did not have one so I opted for Flash. In terms of game play and challenge, Flash was a better buy.
Centaur is a really god machine. Played a new one at UTS in Sydney in 1982 where the students killed some time in between classes.
There were Centaur, Kiss, Black Hole, Meteor, Hulk, Haunted House, Supersonic and Flash Gordon. Just up the road at Broadway there were many pinball machines but my favourite was Firepower (one operator had 4 on the same site). He had them cranked up real loud and you could hear them up the road!
