DE Sega new MPU, now program runs too fast
« on: May 11, 2012, 11:27:18 PM »
Hi,
I just replaced the MPU board on my Sega Batman forever with new 6808 microprocessor and new "CPU" program chip.
The machine runs really well now. The lights are brighter and coils are a little stronger.
The only problem is that it seem like the program is running too fast.
There is a DMD display only scene called the roof top chase where you need to dodge obsticles.
The challenge runs way too fast to ever complete it. You crash after about 1 second.
The old MPU ran this scene alot slower.

Does anyone have any ideas on why this is happening and how to slow it down?
The new MPU is a rotton dog copy of the origional.

Rich.

Some RD boards seem to have a few odd problems according to reports I have seen?? I have a RD MPU in my DE Playboy and it works fine.

I would email them and ask as they seem to be pretty helpful and own up to any issues.

sounds like it has a faster oscillator than the original board had.
