What colour blades would look good in which machines
« on: July 10, 2012, 11:30:47 PM »
I thought in link with the start of manufacture of FLAVOURED BLADES would be what would look good in which machines. This will help people to consider something that they may never have prior. It also helps me determine what the next runs should be made of to best please people.

The 1st Run of blades is located here:
http://aussiepinball.com/index.php?topic=8978.0
which is 24 sets of blades - 1 sheet x silver mirror, 1 sheet x black mirror, 1 sheet x gold mirror - are underway.

So post your suggestions for the 90's Bally / Williams and 2000's Stern's.

In edition this is a personal taste mod extra so does come down to each individual of what they like and don't like so please keep this as a positive thread and those not interested in blades just read, laugh, groan etc but let others enjoy please. Those that do install flavoured blades please take a moment to post a picture to show others what you could do to yours.

Silver Mirror
- almost any machine really and it does come down to personal taste, my curiosity is more what flavours suit which machines. So give your suggestion and I will maintain this post.

Black Chrome Mirror Blades
- The Addams Family - Black
- Creature From the Black Lagoon
- The Shadow
- Tron
- Spiderman - Black

Gold Chrome Mirror Blades
- Medieval Madness
- Twilight Zone
- Threatre of Magic
- Fish Tales
- Indianna Jones
- Pinball Magic
- Lord of the Rings
- Iron Man
- Elvis

Blue Mirror

- Whitewater
- Fishtales
- Whirlwind
- X-Men Pro / Wolverine LE

Red Mirror
- X-Men Magneto LE
- Spiderman

Chrome for "Ripleys believe it or not"-blades would suit the theme well I reckon.

Here are a few ideas

Gold - Threatre of Magic
Black - Tron
Blue - X-Men Wolverine LE
Red - X-Men Magneto LE

note the red and blue ones were made by Drano off Pinside and both of these are not mirror, rather more brushed but posted to give you guys a idea.

GOLD would look good on INDIANNA JONES - WIDEBODY, but I still prefer std mirror blades

Standard mirror would look great on a Black Knight 2000 or even black/gold blades, take ya pick here really !

OR red or std blades on 1978 Phoenix

Interesting to note, most people are putting blades on DMD machines, but what about blades on pre 1980 machines ?  !@# might look great !

My gold set will be going on MM - saw some pics on the pinballdreams website and thought it would be a nice change from the chrome set currently installed.

It would be great to see a green set installed for CV.

After having another look at el-timbos restore of a fish tales I reckon gold blades would suit this game to, it would tie in with the cab art - give it a sunrise / sunset feel.

Wow I love the black blades in Tron. I only have experience with plain chrome ones, do the colour ones scratch easier when lifting the playfeild?
