Filezilla- help - anyone
« on: March 03, 2009, 07:59:04 PM »
Hey all,

Have been using this program to update my site recently.
Worked PERFECTLY and easily.

Now - all of a sudden it has stopped allowing me to upload any images.
I have stacks of webspace left available.
I know it is definitely connected to my FTP site as all my files and folders appear and I can upload/ download html pages to and fro.

Its JUST images  *!@

Aint that frustrating. ^&(

Thanks in advance

Can you manually FTP an image to your host?

Wotto - Sounds like a Firewall setting on your pc ?

Do you have Zonealarm or Windows firewall ? Maybe tunr the Firewall "off" just to test the connection / transfer.

Usually - there's an error AND a number next to the error or above it.

Have you updated to the latest version. Should be 3.2.2.1.

Off the menu, select Edit > Settings...

On the popup window that appears, select Transfers > File exists action. Check that both Downloads and Uploads are not set to "Skip". If they are, set them to "Ask for action".

Yes mate - latest version installed.

And those settings are correct and not set to skip, they are both already at 'ask for action'

Old skool!  Without the aid of those nice graphical front ends!

http://www.computerhope.com/software/ftp.htm

Basic help (I'm assuming your running Windows?)

In theory, your GUI app is doing the same thing on the underlying protocols.....

If a 'DOS' FTP fails then one of two things...Either your end is causing issues, firewall, router etc...or your host is having issues of some description.  I guess another quick test maybe to see if Creech can upload an image?

I suspect it would be the GUI, as FTP does not really care what the file is, as long as it contains 1 & 0's!
