AC/DC is a very very good pinball machine. The theme (band) was a great choice.

If the KISS rumor become fact, then the KISS game will be Stern's biggest seller for the last 20 years. This could only be questioned by people who are not KISS fans. The most "merchandised" band in History with ANOTHER pinball. Stern are not stupid. KISS fans and collections have massive collections. Mine is worth around $50,000. To give you an idea - I bought a 30 inch KISS Destroyer figurine for $300 in 2001. It is now worth $1000 - $1200. I've never even opened the box.

Smart move by Stern, and not the first time he has approached the Band's Management.

As a fan, I've already flagged the biggest problem Stern with have marketing this game - and this could be a huge mistake if they get it wrong. It the Machine features the original members, it will be a monster seller. If it features the Tribute Band line-up they have had since 2004, it will not be as big. KISS collectors don't buy the new merchandise, only the younger fans do. The older fans won't have anything to do with the current line-up (like me). The fans with the money are the old farts like me. I'll buy a KISS pinball ONLY after I've seen the art package.

The only compromise will be debated for quite some time - have all the present and past members featured. Or, base the machine around the music featured on the machine. If the Klassic tunes are used then they have to use that line-up. Their recent releases since Alive IV have been stinkers and the new album will most likely be as well. Their 70's tunes are well and truly part of American culture. Lets see if Stern stuff this up.

I am wondering if the KISS 2013 model will really ever happen, although I am definately hoping it does.

The issue here is who and what do u put on the pinball machine ? Will the new band/cast members agree to not being on there ? Will the old members want too much money ?  Will they want members in makeup or without etc ? It all starts getting too difficult with too many variables really. Who holds the licence ? I cant see Gene having anythiong to do with this at all. Why would he, he has nothing really new or relevant in the pinball industry anymore except some parts he sells at trade shows etc, and the new licence would be negotiated and bought by Stern from Paul Stanley/Gene Simmons directly anyway one would imagine.

Can a new KISS machine come off, can it really ever get past all the red tape, and if it does, will it be a good player, a good looker, with the right artwork and members on the pinny ? thats a lot of ducks to get sitting in a neat row ! I am not a betting man, but I dont think its going to happen, not like the ease of AC/DC came to fruition.  Hope i am wrong and everything aligns. I would love one. A BNIB KISS pinny would be way cool.

Is it just too much of a stretch but ? and if its not, why now in 2013, why hasnt it happened again since 1978 ?

Both Peter Criss and Ace Frehley sold their rights over the make-up back to KISS. Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer have the original member's blessings to be in the band as neither WANT to be in the same band for a tour. It just won't happen. They have already done the "reunion tour", so it will never happen UNTIL they perform their last show - which won't be for a while. It was always the collective dream for all members to reunite at Shay Stadium for one last show.

KISS can use ANY material from the 70's right up to today. It will be the Band having TOTAL control over every aspect. This was why KISS rejected the idea initially, and they went with the Rolling Stones instead. Stern have no negotiation here. "KISS INC" control EVERYTHING.

The original members will still receive royalties for anything on the machine that they are entitled to. This will mainly be songwriting credits. To this day, the original members (Frehley and Criss) are still looked after. There's no real animosity between the members NOW. But they cannot be in the same touring band.

The pinball will need to represent their entire history. It cannot focus on just the 70's, and I don't think it will work without going back through to 1973. This is Stern's BIGGEST issue. Fans go to concerts to see the entire setlist, which is still heavily represented by their first 6 albums. The newer stuff is ok, but nothing like the Alive or Alive II setlist.

Man, i remember the KISS movie when i was a teenager, KISS wasnt a band, it was an entire INDUSTRY. HUGE doesnt cover 1 percent of it.lol

Anything Stern does will have to pass the marketing genius of Gene Simmons, and for this fact alone, it would mean to me that the artwork would be spot on because nothing shabby ever gets past Gene Simmons (and probably Paul Stanley) who is also a very astute business man.

I used to listen to DETROIT ROCK CITY, used to buy every poster, every album, every toy, they were just amazing. About 3 or 4 years after the makeup came off, and after the unmasked album, my interest wained. Eric Carr was good, didnt mind his look in makeup, and some of his stuff, but after those years, i lost some interest. A 2013 version of the 1978 pinball machine would be awesome.

I would also buy a few/3 new machines like u Nino. One to play, 1 or 2 x to keep BNIB for years down the track. Man, I hope they make this title.
Sitting next to a AC/DC pinny would be great.

p.s - someone mentioned a Bieber pinball. If it was down the pub/anywhere really, one would think it was be brutalised and totally tagged/spraypainted within the first few days. Maybe in the USA, BUT to my mind, teenage girls, aged 8 to 20 yrs dont play much pinball ?

The coolest way to get pinball happening today in Australia would to have brand new Stern models for sale at Bunnings nationwide. Fathers would buy them, kids would then get to see how cool it is etc, and maybe a new generation would join in etc. I am still amazed to this day that no-one from Australia has even tried to get BNIB Sterns into a chain like Bunnings or Harvey Norman etc etc etc. I reckon that marketing would work, and work well. Pinball machines have to get advertised in the mainstream to become mainstream again.

Why hasnt it happened ?

something tells me they already have.lol

Anyone got the link ? I erased it.  Did they pimp it or wreck it? lol  Remembering in all fairness, the original machine that Mike Goldman had was pretty bad to start with. It did end up really good if u like something far from orig. It was still a great talking piece for the bar-room etc.

That Bella chick is far too thin. Nice if u like the stick shaped body. Better than something over chubbler/fat.lol

Will the 2013 KISS machine come with a zebra print ? lol  !@# !@#

We are all speculators on here Gav.lol    gets past the monotony of waiting for a new stern announcement which never comes quick enough.

I didnt mind that heroes song, its a bit mellow yes, maybe a good song for a new babe in the back of ya panelvan/shaggin wagon at the drive in movies back in the day.lol
Its like the I was made for loving u song etc, alot loved it, alot said it was too mellow, but some classic guitar work it has, and some of the best guitar riffs of alltime. I like that song as well. It was a massive hit in its day also.

Hey, who wants to list THE 12 songs that SHOULD be on the 2013 KISS pinball if made ?

whats the 12 songs that have to be on the 2013 pinny ?  stacks to chose from ?

Had to throw in that last post of mine, simply because of Paul Stanley's hair do - pisser.

Here's my RomV2 song list -

Come on and love me
I want you
Love gun
I was made for living you
Sure know something
What makes the world go round
Easy as it seems
Creatures of the night
Thrills in the night
Turn on the night
God gave rock n roll to you
(You make me) rock hard!

A few songs I came up for the pinball 2013 KISS model.

First, I would have 4 x songs which would be a song picked from each of the KISS solo albums done by each band member for Ace, Gene, Peter and Paul, then pick another 8 songs from the below list.

Because the pinny would want to have a up-lifting rock n roll fast theme, probably incl really rocky songs like the first 6 or so I have chosen.

I would like to hear Nino's 12 songs, since he has followed the ban from day one and has extensive knowledge of both the kiss pinnys/best songs etc.

Here is the list i would add to the 4 solo songs etc >

Detroit Rock City
I was made for loving You
Sure know Something
Forever
Rock n Roll All Night (Shout it out loud)
Hell or Hallelujah
Domino
I love it Loud
Psycho Circus
Every time I look at you
Lick it Up
Rise to It
Reason to Live
Thrills in the Night

They have so many great songs to chose from. After thinking about it, the KISS army would probably make this pinny a huge seller.
Get some KISS Army facebook and computer media out there to promote it, and it just might be an all time seller for Stern. Praying it comes off. Really cool way to make 2013 a GREAT year.

Insert a coin - the sound of a flashbomb erupts in the speaker sub woofer. Start a game, and you hear the intro from "Alive II" - "You wanted the best and you got the best, the hottest band in the world - KISS"

Would have to include songs ;

Deuce
Black Diamond
Rock and Roll all Nite
God Of Thunder
Detroit Rock City
Shock me
I was made for lovin you
Creatures of the Night
War Machine
Lick it Up
Unholy
Psycho Circus
Into the Void

While adding your high score, "Strangeways" is being played in the background  *%*

Ball Save - If you drain the ball without flipping the ball, then you hear "Goin' Blind" - acoustic version
