wow, listening to that idiot sitting in the dark was painful.   some people just want to wreck all the fun for everyone.  using that guys logic, all places designed for young kids shld be banned because weirdo's flock to those places to prey on the young. I am sure if he had his way he would ban beaches where kids go, ban picnic tables etc etc.

its good to see that there are not as many media beatups on the ABC these days about the great sport n hobby of pinball.  @.@

I found that quite interesting, I blamed that fat old guy in the dark for shutting down these "REAL" Arcades...
They probably think they have fixed the problem... I don't think its any worse!
I hate it when my mates say, hey wanna go to an Arcade! I just think... yea? what one are you talking about? and its all that Ticket Crap! That would be more addicting than pinball!

Still a goood watch! :lol

Yeah, it wasn't hard to get a moral panic going back in those days.

How about that onsite lineup though? I'm sure they'll all be named by the end of the day.

There may well be a few members in that clip.

I'm going to contact ABC Archives to see if they have a complete episode

The guy in the dark was just making pinballs cooler to any rebelious kids.  Tell them they are bad and the kids only want to hand around arcades more, I'm tipping he was a Bally rep  *)*

i don't know how it was in sydney at the time this was shot but in Melbourne's northern suburbs the only people playing the bingos were adults and not kids. if you wanted money you would raid places where people left soft drink bottles, every bottle was worth 20 cents  $#$

I thought you had to have tatts and an evil moustache to legally play a bingo.

My dad was a cop and his rule was if the room had 12' tables and/or bingo machines I had to leave.
