Swinks, the software is taking a long time to do because not only are they writing the game software, they are also writing the operating software for a new system and hardware

Big task for only one guy
This should be better with future games as the hard work will have already been done

Jack should have hired more programmers and had them working on it sooner

Unsure - but doesnt reading that about "part" of a business model make anyone else make anyone else concerned about the 'back up ' end of this business once a game is released and starts to have issues  !@#

Will that area have 'one guy' as well *!@

Will the 'one' warranty, parts, service guy be able to keep up
Has there been any discussion on this?

Just like AMD carry quite a few spares for its STERN pinball games, wouldnt the Australian dealer for JJP have various bits n pieces issued to it incase of a warranty claim etc. Just like car dealerships with new sales out front, and spare parts n servicing dept side by side out back ready n stocked for any hassles.
I cant see a issue with any JJP warranty. The machine should be tested to death before it leaves, and if any hassles occur, its only a phonecall or email away from the problem getting fixed. These new pinballs from STERN are very robust so I cant see JJP's machines being any different really.

Hurry up Xmas, hurry up Wizard of OZ.  Hurry up with a new mod to change out those red shoe flipper bats to something else.lol

Won't take that long for machines after WOZ as they were setting up production facilities etc. That's all done now. I'd say a machine per year ?

It's just a bummer with the theme - I am really liking what he is doing and putting into a pin as a whole package but WOZ and then the Hobbit - not really my thing - was really hoping on a haunted house non license. About a year ago Elvira had chats with JJP and there was rumours...

We will just have to wait and see but agree with Nino probably 1 a year. 1 every 2 years is too long but he has had to create a business not just a pin.

Strange that JJP did not make the announcement but maybe they were concerned if they went out to take orders on the next one - could of been a backlash ???

who made Lord of the rings pinball?

i do agree on a non licenced theme would have been better, but in Hobits defence the movie will be massive just like Lord of the rings.

i wont buy that theme for home but i am thinking about buying one to site

LOTR, The Hobitt, its all been done to death...but it has been a while since LOTR was done by Stern, and this is where the 26 inch LCD will attract kids over to the machine if the machine is onsite....with various video action clips etc...I am still ho hum about the Hobitt cause it is too much like something that has been done to death...like LOTR 1, 2, 3 7, 25 and so on.lol just like the 20 versions of Harry Potter, Twilight movies snnnrrrr fests, even action Superman movies, like all this stuff which just gets refried up every 3 to 5 years...where is the new
menu for gods sake..its all rehashed to buggery...

I have said it countless times, but what about a really cool sci-fi alien style edgey pinball machine (if Prometheus had of been made with more action n less weirdo mind spin etc)...even a really cool pinball in its day could have been something like the matrix, but still not alien/sci fi enough for me..

JJP will not survive on 1 x pinball machine per year, not a chance, even 2 x machines a year will be in my opinion putting him in the red...Stern has averaged always 3 to 4 titles per year since 1999, and dont forget,. they do LE versions and sometimes the Premium, so JJP will have to lift its production goals n results alot higher, and people will not wait like they did with WOZ which was fair given all the set ups etc...JJP,they had a get out of jail free card with setiing up n tooling up plus building a production line (although none of its finished yet) but it wont be an accepted excuse for the next few years....not unless u make machines that knock peoples socks off...this will still have to be playfield/toy/shot wise dependant..hidden alien technology in cabinets doesnt count when the fun factor is calculated by playfield alone...

Time for some serious decision making and for JJP to start really investing alot more heavily than he has thought about doing in the past if he is to even come close to making Gary Stern toss n turn at night, which I dont think has even come close to happening as yet....

The Hobbit....wow....just doesnt grab me by the balls at all...and for 6 or 7 grand, I want my balls yanked hard to reach into my pockets for any BNIB title...also, we need more movies from friggin Hollywood..they are another major letdown, most movies these days are piss weak and that predictable as well.....why is everything dumbed down....what happened to taking risks with something hard n fast n sci-fi etc...

I will do a thread on licenced versus unlicenced titles cause I have correllated some interesting figures that will surprise alot of people...it even surprised me and i am a believer that unlicenced themes have always been over rated in peoples belief systems that they sell better...will post that tonight for anyone wanting to read another Cavey spanish inquisition.lol  %.% %.%

yer i agree with this, shame we dont have more options, if your right about needing more than one pin a year then theres hope for another theme hopefully,

the Hobbit is more palatable than Woz theme, but if i was to buy it i think it would be because of JJP's innovation rather than theme, but i know it would site well in my shop so i may consider it, although i would much rather a none licensed theme like many others have stated, then ill have to make a decision of if i want one for the shop or home.

but i bet if JJP didnt get the license for this theme Stern would have done it.
I bet it pisses stern off big time they dont have that license, because no one can deny this is a title they would have built.

Very much doubt the cash has run out but to ask for $8K for whats in his head - AGAIN is a bit rich. No Jack - we havent seen what JJP can do as noone has a game yet.. YES we have seen the window dressing but bling doesnt make a great pin - GAME PLAY does. Apart from a handful of people at USA shows this game still has not been road tested, and even then it had to be hauled off for repair constantly ( PPE) and then unfinished at subsequent shows.
Anyway - who cares about a numbered LE game? Appreciated that the LE WOZ will increase in value and should be a good investment being JJP#1 machine... but game #2?? Neither here nor there really.
