I'm guessing that this happens on all 5 displays?? If so have a look at J1 on the MPU board, in particular pins 25 thru to 28, (these are the display segment data lines).
Check for a dry solder joint on the mpu J1 pins maybe.. or more likely check the connector pins inside the plastic connector housing and the MPU board pins for corroded or tarnished pins.

Might be time to repin some connectors!

Hope this helps!! Cheers... Mitch

<..>what happens in normal game mode is, the scores add up as they are supposed to ,but as it gets up to threes 13 thousand, 30 thousand etc it reverts back to 10,000...but eventually goes up to 100,000........& eventually 330,000......then it goes back to zero if that makes sense...........i was hoping it wasnt the mpu ....but only the display pins........ *)* *)*

Turn the game off. Remove all but one display connectors. Switch on and run the display test.

Then switch off, disconnect that single display, and reconnect another. Switch on and test.

I have seen strange display issues due to one display causing all of them to display incorrect readouts. Try to isolate the display. If this test fails to find a faulty display, you are looking at a problem with the MPU.
