Perth Pinball Auction Nov 18
« on: November 16, 2012, 12:58:14 AM »
Hi All,

Some of you Perth boys and girls may be aware of the auction this Sunday, but thought I would put it up here in case anyone doesn,t know about it.

Our friends in the East may be interested too.

Couple of interesting pins like the Stern lightning , would like to see how much it goes for as it is a No Reserve auction yeah right !! !!@ !!@

If I get a chance to go , I'll whack up some prices afterwards , otherwise anyone else is also free to do so.

Sorry, didnt get time yesterday to do this, but here it is.

Firstly auction had a good turnout, but as is usual , prices were quite a bit over what anyone in "the know " ( ie us lot ) would be prepared to pay. There were a lot of newbies there, I had several people around my age 45 asking my opinion on whats a good machine to get etc, so there were lots of people who really didnt have much of a clue what to look for and what was fair price to pay, so a few people paid over the odds, maybe next time they will do their homework first.

A P next to the price means it was "Passed in " or failed to meet their reserve.

Nice depreciation (or bargain depending on your viewpoint) on ACDC.

All the others mostly fall into either the 1. close to or 2. way over the value.

Thanks for posting the prices.  ^^^

Yeah, I reckon they would be disappointed with the return on the AC/DC - probably unlucky with that one.

Depending on condition, like you say, some reasonable prices and some a bit excessive! I would never expect to see a Dirty Harry go for $3400, decent machine though it is. I reckon that one might even be above normal dealer pricing.

A shame there was no Getaway in there - would have liked to see if I valued mine correctly when I traded it recently!

Hey Chris

was that you taking detailed notes on all the machines on Saturday?  I was the one breaking machines and then trying to put them back together!  Seriously, I 'broke' 5 games in around 10 minutes when I first got there !@)

Thanks for the report.  I believe the AC/DC was not actually sold.

cheers
Ian

I was bidding on the Gum machine ,wish I had done some research first ,it sold for $275,not bad for a 100 year old machine ^&^ that can be worth thousands.
The AC/DC was thrashed and far from new condition ,I thought it sold.Very weird playing one like that after unboxing and playing so many brand new ones.
One thing to remember with those prices you need to add %10 buyers premium

Sorry but it wasn't actually there or up for auction, it must have been withdrawn.

It was listed as lot 76 on the initial preliminary auction list posted on their website, but it wasn't listed in the actual auction catalogue on the day which only went up to lot75.

Sorry dunno what happened, there is a number to call on that website for Dave Miller who runs the auction, he might be able to tell you.

Bloody hell Ian , they wont let you back mate  :lol

Yeah, no I wasn't there on Saturday, just too busy.

I got there about 45mins before auction start on Sunday and had to go by about 3pm so didn't have much time to check things out.
I played all the classics and gave them a quick look over but didn't have time to really check out any DMDs or arcade games.

I didn't think ACDC sold either but someone else said it did  !@# so not 100% sure.

I kept an eye out for anyone who looked like an Aussie Pinballer but I didn't see anyone i recognized, maybe next time we all wear an Aussie Pinball shirt  !@#
