If you lived in NSW it could have been a whole different outcome - in NSW minors CAN contract and be held legally responsible for mobile phones/bank accounts et al as the legal test behind it is one of gaining a "benefit or advantage" for the use of the service (rather than one of necessity). A much broader scope than what exists in SA (and the rest of Aus).
