One thing I noticed from the pic of the hair dryer and the contact.

Apply heat to the OTHER side of the contact. In other words, you warm up the adhesive from the top of the contact sheet. Pull towards the hair dryer. Have the dryer in you right hand and lift he contact with your left hand and pull to the right as you heat the top of the contact.
