Andrew (Beaky) did get great results with the chemical only nickle plating kit (chemical only meaning that the chemical did the plating without the use of electricity being added) and the plating went extremely well, however, the expensive chemical must be heated to a constant temperature, and it doesnt last long if the temperature goes past its optimal temperature/working temp.

the plating then sticks to the sides of the stainless tub etc.

I think, from speaking to Andrew, that ultimately, the best way to get set up for plating quite alot of parts is to probably go with a nickle plating set up that uses electricity, which will make the job quicker, probably not use as much plating chemical, and it would be easier to keep the plating chemical at a more constant temp without it overheating, causing the product to spoil.
