No reports as yet - I will be evaluating the cheaper nickel set when I get time. Beaky has had great results on his ST TNG.

Andrew (Beaky) did get great results with the chemical only nickle plating kit (chemical only meaning that the chemical did the plating without the use of electricity being added) and the plating went extremely well, however, the expensive chemical must be heated to a constant temperature, and it doesnt last long if the temperature goes past its optimal temperature/working temp.

the plating then sticks to the sides of the stainless tub etc.

I think, from speaking to Andrew, that ultimately, the best way to get set up for plating quite alot of parts is to probably go with a nickle plating set up that uses electricity, which will make the job quicker, probably not use as much plating chemical, and it would be easier to keep the plating chemical at a more constant temp without it overheating, causing the product to spoil.

PM Beaky for specifics etc.  ^^^

The job was going well until i had a contamination problem which spoiled the electroless solution ( the pot i used had aluminium rivets holding the handles on and found that some parts had stainless steel inserts which had the old zinc coating on the normal metal under the stainless insert).
I did have a problem with the nickel building up on the stainless steel pot i was using.
I will have to buy some more to finish the job and i am thinking of buying the normal nickel plating set up.
Its all trial and error and practice.

over all i am happy with the results.

you will find some pics on this tread http://aussiepinball.com/index.php?topic=4853.45
