Stern Ali on eBay

These don't come up very often in Australia:

Relatively rare title.

I'm sure someone here was looking for one.

I love Sterns, but cant stand the artwork on this pin (ali's face on the PF). Looks in good nick though.

I was looking for one but have since found one late last year.

Pity she cannot even spell his name correctly.

Backbox surround appears to be black instead of purple. There are no photos of the side cabinet and sides of the backbox.

She appears to have quite a bit of negative feedback as well

I imagine if you could pick it up for less than $2K delivered you would have yourself a pretty good buy.

Tony, what does it play like?

Andrew,

I really like the Sterns of this era. Have a Meteor as well.

The game has good speed and some excellent skill shots - some are really tight. It has two banks of drop down targets as well.

Not everyone likes the artwork and the purple, but I do

If you owned a Rocky, an Ali next to it would be cool.

What do you reckon the problem would be with the displays - the board? How much to replace if required?

Could be the 3/16 fuse on the solenoid Driver board
Could be the HV section transistors are open. The are easy to source;

I upgrade SD boards via Clay's guide and extend that upgrade to the entire HV section, as described here ;

That is my goal once my Rocky is up and running.

So doesn't sound too expensive to fix if there is a real problem.

That would be my assessment. However, who knows if the Displays are all damaged (worst case scenario) - certainly a strange coincidence if that is the case.

Indeed, that would be very strange.

The bidding war has started 4 days out - well, two people have bid on it.

Agreed, most likley a simple power supply problem to the displays.
