Looks great, how did you get the playfield so good?

Did you wax it?

That is looking great have you mylared the playfield?

  The best advice i can give you is to rebuild all the stepper units and score reels i find 90% of EM start up faults are non functioning and dirty stepper and score units.  Specially if it has been sitting for many years.

  If you unsure do a search in the 101 section there are step by step instructuions on how to do these

I already rebuilt all the mechanicals last year . Only wired up the power for the 1st time recently. I've got a fair bit of EM experience under my belt and will track remaining faults down. It is completing reset sequence now and launching the ball as it should

Only have wax on the playfield .

If you have a look back through this thread you'll see I've touched up the playfield and have put about 5 coats of wax on it.

Man thats a damn good wax job.  Well done what method do you use?  Mine never look that good

I use Meguires Hitech Yellow Wax. For this PF I stripped everything from the top side, including the light sockets, applied a couple of coats the usual way (ie by hand) then a couple more coats which I buffed using a lambswool polishing pad on my electric drill (a poor man's version of the treasure trove kit I spose) .

This machine is starting to do my head in. 
Have made some progress .. all PF lights now work (switch on tilt relay was out of adjustment)
Ball count unit was not stepping up due broken power wire on coil (not obvious)
One eject hole now works, the other still doesn't.
All PF switches now work.
Have tracked down some other switches which were out of adjustment causing other problems.
Still trying to fathom why it doesn't do anything when the ball drains and why only sometimes
it will reset and start a new game when using the credit button, but does when pressing the coin switch (which it shouldn't)
I also need to order 4 new coils for the pop bumpers as can't remove original sleeves.

I will get there , as usual it just requires patience and perseverance.

Patience is the key and tackle each problem in isolation. There's nothing I enjoy more than fault finding EMs. Evey problem has a logical conclusion - it is the learning aspect of "gettiing there" that has always kept my interest in EMs. Oh - and of course - I LOVE playing them

I hear you Nino . I love fault finding them too .. just gotta stop going around in circles like I am at the moment .
I've only been in the hobby for 5 years (or is it 4 ?) but I am still amazed at how anyone could design all the logic that goes into making an EM work

I think I've now found all the faults .. but can't be sure till I can play a game .
Put an order in to PBR today for the pop bumper coils + some other bits and pieces so soon as I get those I can finish putting the game back together.

The key problem that had me stumped ended up being simple , and something I should have checked 1st ! The score motor home switch was out of adjustment so the score motor was only turning 180 degrees and then stopping.
Also found the latch/trip relay (which is at the rear of the playboard on this game) was not working at all .. mechanical problem.
Found a number of other switches out of adjustment along the way.

Hopefully I’ll finally get to play my 1st ever game on this in a week or so

Well done on getting it going.  The first thing i ever do with an EM is remove the base board so i can get a good look at it make sure all the switches are aligned and not bent.  Clean each contact then rebuild every stepper and score reel that way i know any faults still present will have to be brocken wires or stuck/non worming switches.  The best bit is onc its running it will run forever

Project just about finished, all thats left is spray the cab and headbox with clear laquer and reinstall the siderails.

Yep, Nino , very much looking forward to playing a game.

Fired it up on Friday arvo, to do just that and nothing happened when hitting the credit button .. a wire had come off the lock relay coil . 
Currently play testing and tracking down last few faults .. ball count not advancing (fixed .. tracked down to dirty plug in backbox) , ball diverter gate staying open (think thats got something to do with the player reset relay), left kickout hole not working etc.

Will post some pics of the finished cab in a couple of days when I get a chance

Gday all.
Well, this project is pretty much finished. I was finally able to play some games on her yesterday . 
Still need to figure out why second player doesn't work, why the card count intermittently goes nuts and resets, and why she doesn't award credits.
Amazing logic in this one, 38 relays needed. Machine needs to reset card count when you bust as well as award when you beat the dealer.
Game plays really well and is pretty much 2 games in one .. trying to beat the dealer each ball yet at the same time maximise your score
each game.
Has many new parts , including all new sleeves and coil stops, Pop bumpers are all new including coils and springs (very snappy).
Full flipper kit and coils etc.
Machine cost $700 and now owes me $1130.
Still need to order a repro backglass from Gavin to finish her off.
