patching Williams ROMS for non-ghosting LED's
« on: April 02, 2015, 05:16:01 PM »
Am only coming up to speed with this - but have noticed there are some legal issues preventing the sale or distribution of patched roms to help with LED ghosting. My understanding is the patch software is just a simple decompiler/re-compiler + patch so was wondering if this little utility is available anywhere.

If its suitable, could someone shoot me a PM?

Thanks

Wrong.  It is a software issue. Do some research if you dont accept that.

williams used a technique whereby they would send current to the globe to 'warm' them up prior to firing it up completely so as to improve bulb response.
its not crap, just search google or pinside.

FYI Sinbad,

Not sure what the title is from your OP, but any post 1996 machine should have the updated software driver code which fixes the ghosting issue already installed from Williams.

Or a pre 1996 machine which has had custom roms installed (e.g. TZ Home Roms) should be okay as well.

GI is referred to as flicker, no real solution for that.
