Now that I have your attention...
I thought I would share the process involved for just one single item - cleaning and packing Homepin pinball balls.
First we needed some packing and, as nothing was available that really suited, we made our own. We started by drawing up the ball packing layout and then cutting the mould in the CNC machine, the mould was then placed in our vacuum forming machine and loaded up with balls:
a
Then we used 0.35mm plastic sheet in the machine to form the packing shells:
Then the formed sheets are cut to size in the foot guillotine:
Then we polish and inspect each ball individually and pack them in bags of eight with a few drops of light machine oil and Sid made up a few trial boxes to make sure all fitted OK before handing the job on to the staff to complete:
The labels go on and cleaning cloth inserted ready for packing and shipping out and protected by the light machine oil for years if necessary in this packing:
These are available now from The Pinball Warehouse in Brisbane and from other pinball outlets in time (as containers arrive).
Here is a short video showing our vacuum forming machine in action making this packing. It is pretty fast as it is semi-automatic and each sheet takes less than a minute to make:
I can NEVER get the Youtube links to work here on AP? try the link below.
