Pinball Rescue apron decals for old Williams and Bally
« on: December 02, 2009, 06:38:24 PM »
Just noticed that Pinball Rescue are now selling apron decals for 70's Williams and Bally games.

I recall people wanting these for games like Flash and Gorgar.  So go for it!.

Thes products are simply AWESOME.
I used them when I restored my Flash, Gorgar and Time Warp years ago.
A +++ quality.

A little daunting to install ( do it wet ) but they look PERFECT when done.

And get this - years later here are the same guys selling them at the SAME price as back then
VERY good & fair deal all round.

I would grab em while they last, cause they ran out once before and it was annoying.

What's the lifespan of these? Are they a type of plastic/vinyl material similar to what signwriters use? I'll always be cautious painting over aprons, even though my Flash apron printing is a bit rough, it's still original. Same goes for my other machine.

Have bought reproduction plastics and backglasses from PBR, Shay Arcade Group and Pinball Rescue.

Our own Pinball Rescue in Queensland are the best quality all round.

Have bought plastic sets and backglasses from both Shay and PBR and not been 100% happy with the quality half the time.

It's also true with the old saying: the more we buy the more they make  ^^^

Very reasonable price for the Apron Decals,  ^^^
I also like the round stencils for painting around the inserts.

They also make such a massive difference to your game. Most times the card trays are rusted and scratched up.

For around $30 and an hours work they make your game come to life  *%*

If they are still the same ( and it sounds like they are ) - they are a very thin clear material that has the red and white sections printed onto it. The red and white print was exceptionally high quality. What you did was to peel the back off and stick it down over your blask re-sprayed apron and the clear sections ( once dried ) dissapeared and complteely blended in to the black background , leaving the high quality red and white visible.

If you used the wet method to instal them - it took a good 2 -3 days to completely dry out underneath - it will look milky at first but I assure you it dried VERY VERY nicely.

Heres a couple of shots of my old Time Warp apron with one of these applied

That looks great Wotto, really really nice. Thanks for clearing that up i might give these a go, just have to have a bit of a think first.

Funnily enough, i don't mind the original scuffed up aprons too much. I'm kinda scared about losing the character of what the game has been through and 'what it is now', if ya know what i mean (same reason i'm in two minds about a cab re-spray). Once the original of something is gone it don't come back!

Mmmm i love making decisions like this.

Maybe write a quick email off to the guys at Pinball Rescue and just confirm they are still doing these Williams apron decals the SAME as before as well - to be 100% sure  !@#
