Often overlooked - the chime unit. No point in making the game look and play 100% if the sounds are not right ! So here is a post on the rebuild of a chime unit.

Here's what I started with - and notice the diode on the coil. This was bought separately, and must have originated from a system one game ;

The unit was disassembled and cleaned with windex and gray scotchbrite. The coil sleeves were replaced and the diodes removed. The chime bars were polished with Gray scotchbrite, and the rubbers were replaced. Here's the finished chime unit ;

Here is the chime unit installed. The wiring had the chime unit wires intact, but there was some electrical tape that was wound around the harness. This suggests that this game did not have chimes from the factory. There were holes in the cabinet, but they were positioed for the credit assembly, not the chime assembly.

Next update - The head rebuild !

Lookn good Nino  ^^^ Im pretty sure that for an EM chime assembly the coils should be A-5195, which are a little bit more powerful coil than the SS ones fitted to your chime unit. So if you find that the chime unit sounds a bit weak, maybe change to the coils to A-5195 coils.

Top notch work as always ^^^ ^^^

100% correct Mitch - We are going to see how we go with this chime unit. It was all that was available at the time  *%*

Coin Door

The coin door has had some parts removed - notably the lock out coil and some wiring. It looks to be in good shape.

Same Ranex, Windex, scotchbrites and tumbling time was spent on the door. I regrained with 320 Grit Wet/Dry and windex. Very happy with the results ;

More spares have been ordered from PBR and should be on their way. The door will be completed then.

The coil sleeves were installed in all the drop target coils, and a couple of lamp sockets were replaced as well. I didn't like the Bumper assemblies (yokes and springs) - so I replaced them. There is the underside 99% done ;

Here is what lies ahead of me !

ALL the score reel assemblies will be individually cleaned and even the coil sleeves replaced. That will be in the next installment !

OK, I am using a 1920 x 1200 resolution on a 24" wide-screen. Very little scrolling involved for me.

Nothing to adjust peeps - I've posted them straight off the server - they are too big. To be honest - it was annoying me as well !

I'll revert back to smaller pictures and if I get time, I'll shrink the picks and re link

My apologies !

IE is a quick install, then you would have this issue.
Works good for me.  However looking at installing Firefox for the DOM view and some other debugging functions.
and
Mozella for an add-on for posting files and capturing responses.

They all have their features and can be installed at the same time.

(or save the photos and open in an other program, imageviewer)
