I would prefer a swapover of a populated playfield rather than have to take everything off and on.
If they cant do a straight swap with another populated playfield then a replacement unpopulated playfield would suffice
LE BIB ACDC

Totally agree with you, what a bummer. Enough to turn people off buying NIB sight unseen.

They should do it just for there reputation.

Then for safety reason you get someone else to hold the game up and someone else to bolt on the legs while you drink scotch and wait for a game.  Almost forgot the main tip do not clean up any of the mess just kick it around give the wife something to really complain about  &&

Played a few games only fault i can find on mine is the cannon sits a little low and the ball gets stuck under it and if its slow down the ramp gets stuck between the canon and the ramp.  No big deal for me but what ive seen and heard about the LE are not real good.

Found a place for my drink and who says i cant do two things at once

so stern don\t sell seconds when it comes to playfields.they just send them out. :tumble:

This is appauling on the part of STERN and is what i suspected would happen but hoped wouldnt.
I know 1 playfield repro maker quite well... he has just done a run of a 50's woodrail PF.. artwork was just stunning and it took 3 years to redraw it all for screening. result was a limited run of PF's.

Then the crunch comes...... " we no longer have enough playfields to cover all interest as for some reason the clear has reacted with some of the purple inserts... its not easily noticeable, but we are unable to sell almost 50% of the production unless you are willing to purchase what we would consider a second.. price would be lower obviously".
That is someone who takes great pride in what they do...

STERN just have no care over quality control.. there is NO reason whatsoever that any new machine should have any faults... should all be done before it leaves the factory. Unfortunately, they have always been the same

I hear ya Gav, but they employ something that never ever gets it right 100 percent of the time, HUMANS ! lol

if u saw my PRO, u would see what happens when they do get it VERY right. Hoping after another 50 people open their BNIB machines, the ratio of happy to unhappy stays very healthy etc for Stern and its dealers.

Well done Daniel, man you have made me now want to buy a PREMIUM 4 sure to stick next to the Pro. It looks bloody great. I know your family and young fella will love the new machine 4 a very long time. Congrats.  ^^^ ^^^ ^^^ ^^^ ^^^ ^^^ ^^^

Hi Guys,

We had a similar problem with a faulty playfield in 2004 with an Elvis Gold. Stern sent a fully populated playfield over as a replacement and the old playfield had to be sent back at Sterns cost. It was just a matterof unplugging the old wiring loom and plugging in the new one. Be sure to get your machine running 100% before you give them the old playfield back.  I dont think you will have an issue with this. My advice is to notify Leo firstly with photos and also send a copy of the email to Bruce. He will want to see the pictures and will act promptly with Gary Stern. As mentioned before, it is human made and sometimes things fall through the cracks. May also have been done during the clear coat process and not reacted straight away.

All will be sorted, I am quite sure of this!

Regards Joe
