As some of you know, i have a Bally "BMX" - 406 units(confirmed).

It took me 6 years to get one, which amazingly enough (for some of you) came from Gene Cunninghams private stash. - "double rare" i guess  :lol :lol

Big Bang Bar - but given the rumours not sure how long it will be able to hold rare status.

Can add the Add A Ball version of Gottlieb's1957 WORLD CHAMP to this list.. has a different backglass and credit wheel to the replay version. Not sure just how rare it is as I cant find its production listed anywhere. My guess is that it never made it to production.

My tz is quite rare for being a 100% working for any extended period of time

The only game I think could be classed as rare in my collection is the embryon.
Still loving my Metallica Premium

Speaking of TZ, I turned a standard production TZ into a prototype version by drilling a hole through the playfield and adding a working 3rd magnet.  ^&^

A few others have done it now with the prototype playfields being remade, but only a handful had been "pinsane" enough to go through with it as a home made proto version.

Rare, maybe not. Unique, for sure.

Bally Embryon. I have only ever played on before and that would have been in the mid 80's.
Haven't seen one since until I bought one a couple of months ago!

I have two William's Blackouts, nice game from early 80's too. Not very rare overseas but there don't seem to be too many in Aus.

Do you think it's worth it in terms of what it does to gameplay (ie during multiball I think??)

It only really has any effect two times during gameplay.

Once during the spiral mode, where you have to pass all three locks (or more accurately the optos for each lock) to achieve spiral breakthrough.

Second as you mentioned is during the multiball sequence. The machine launches all three balls for multiball and locks one on each magnet before releasing them simultaneously. The catch is that for it to work the pinball machine must know that the powerball is in the gumball machine - in other words during the same game you must have locked the gumball in the gumball machine first and then achieve multiball. Not always the easiest to do on a standard 3 ball game.

It is good to see how the machine software was originally intended to handle the extra magnet before the decision was made to remove it at BW, but it is a lot of effort and unless you were planning to do a full shopout/restore (as I did) involving a total playfield strip (on the topside at least) probably wouldn't do it again.

Here is a vid of me forcing a multiball sequence by hand as described above. Sorry about the vid quality.

I used to have Chrono Trigger and Ogre Battle on SNES, complete with box and manuals. I also had Shadowrun, Final Fantasy III, and the first ActRaiser. But I hardly ever touched them, so I sold them to fund the PS4.

I've still got sealed copies of Ico and SMT: Nocture (the first press, with the soundtrack).

Thanks for the info. Sounds like a project for a rainy day...
