Glad they chose a kick-ass theme, enjoyed the promo vid, fun stuff.

The LE spinning disc magnet is supposed to be like the twister one. Up to now never seen or played one but that is very cool.

utoplay=1&rel=0

Reading on Pinside they where going to use that on batman , but it was scrapped because of its cost .
I can just see it now , broken plastics everywhere .

from pinball news - purely observations from the video:

"The game appears to feature two ramps - one on the right and a side ramp which is presumably shot from a third flipper on the upper right - and bears more than a little resemblance to a horizontally-flipped Tron design. The ramps' paths are not shown but probably lead the the left and right inlanes.

The upper flipper can also shoot a 'Gem-like' inner loop lane which feeds the left orbit and the pop bumpers, while there is a Quorra-esque inner loop on the right.

There is a spinning disc in the centre which is lit from below by four flash lamps. This sits at the entrance of the centre lane which can also be fed from the top in lieu of top rollover lanes. It's not clear whether there will be a bash toy at the top of the centre lane, but there appear to be two pins which can rise at the entrance to create a captive ball, like the link lane on Avatar.

To the left of the spinning disc is a captive ball mechanism with a magnet in front to throw the ball back at the player.

Just to the left of the magnet is a Flynn's Arcade-like scoop with four triangular inserts indicating the features which can be started there. There are two standup targets on the left of the scoop, with a matching pair on the opposite side of the game.

Down at the bottom of the playfield, there is a single inlane on the left and double inlanes on the right. A large X-Men logo is positioned above the flippers with seven inserts below and a shoot again insert right between the flippers.

The CAD drawing also shows the under-playfield slides which are usually only fitted to the Limited Edition versions but have to be allowed for in the design."

To add they merge a few screen shots to get a feel for the complete playfield.

Just got an email back from a US distributor after making some inquiries.

Production starts at the end of this month. The LE version will have red trim for villains and blue trim for heroes.

US pricing for the LE version as a pre-order is in line with previous titles pricing and will have a 6 in the number (was asked not to disclose exact price publicly for now).

Any idea how long it'll take to hit the shelves here in oz if it does go into production at the end of the month?

USD$6800 I read

Lower than that.

There is a "pre-order price war" going on in the US at the moment between some of the distributors to secure customer deposits.

No distributor wants to be held to a figure, since another will simply undercut him (hence the non-disclosure request).

Stern should put out a press release early this week with the MSRP so all will be revealed then.

I don't think we do as there is only one import / distributor, though we have a few on-sellers and AMD can't discount as that would affect the on-sellers but if you are buying from AMD direct they are making better dollars than the on-sellers are.

"Pro=no spinning magnet disc, no trolls, no 3rd moving ramp, no real backglass, no powdercoat trim, no shaker (although code will support it)."
but pro should have 2 magnets (1 x replacing the le's spinning magnet), 2 ramps, 1 x captive ball raising scoop, upper ball lock (like on Avatar)

"LE - No 12" sub.
Shaker is not confirmed included but most likely will be in the LE. Tron was a learning experience for Stern with the customer outcry on the shaker and the one-slot coin door. I doubt they make the same mistake again
No drop targets, money was put into the other features and I am glad !
Press release is early this week, all will be revealed."

No drops what a shame now that's one of the best parts of AC/DC the "drop Targets"..
