Continued my FT Restore today after many months off ( I hate Winter >:
....nothing huge or difficult ..all simple stuff today , just thought I would show some progress.
Cut some new plasticsI always like to replace the clear PF plastics on my machines as most of them have nearly always gone yellow...the FT Boat Ramp was no exception. I just buy a sheet of 2mm perspex , place the old yellow plastic onto it, trace it and then use a jigsaw on medium speed with a fine cutting blade to cut the new plastic to shape....I do it all manually, just pushing the plastic towards the blade as I go, and I keep the blade as close to the edge of the bench as possible to stop any flexing as that makes the sheet of perspex crack.
Hers the 2 new plastics sut to shape compared to the original yellowy ones, in this shot the new plastics still have the protective film on them.
Heres a similar shot with the film removed....
And heres the new plastics placed temporarily on the ramp.
Installed the New ShooterBIG Thanks to Mark C for this new FT shooter handle, I was a bit concerned as to how it would look in full chrome as it is different to the original finish , but man it came up GREAT !!
