Making a DINER sign
« on: September 23, 2012, 03:33:45 PM »
I got commissioned to make a DINER sign for TonyT in Adelaide.
He had seen a sign whilst in USA with Wotto and wanted it recreated for his American style diner he is installing in his house. Sign will remind him of the trip each time he sees it.

Heres the original..

Sign im making will be slightly different in that mine installs flat onto the wall rather than perpendicular.. support framing for this kind of sign makes manufacture complicated and expensive, plus installation is more difficult.. with that in mind, a compromise was made.

Heres my sign, fresh from having the text and border airbrushed on today... the neon and arrow will go on this week and then its ready for shipping.
Tony wants this scuffed and marked like the original... problem is, im having a hard time bringing myself to do it.. its come out so crisp and nice that i really am struggling to start destroying my good work.
Im loving this sign.. looks bloody nice!

Tell the buyer that the rest of his Diner will be in 'New' condition, and so should his sign
