The angle would minimise glare. Bruce also said that there are not many LEs left. Looks like the US has got the bulk of the 799 limited run.
If you don't remember the 70s then you were on drugs.
If you remember playing pinball in the 70s you were having a good time.
If you don't remember anything,  then read about it here,

LE's will be rare here like Tron LE I suppose :-)

I like the look of the Star Trek Pro model. Red Premium looks excellent as well.
Even a Pro Hybrid with metallic blue powder coating on legs n rails n lockbar would be super sweet.
Looks like Stern have created another nice looking game.

Would look good next to a widebody Next Gen.

here is a HD video done by RGR from the weekend in Newcastle - full game play.

utoplay=1&rel=0

and these are his thoughts

- This is the best flowing Stern (DMD) ever made. Beautiful flow around both loops and both ramps.
- Both ramps can be back flipped.
- The saucer lock shot is brilliant. Finally stern have figured out to make a saucer hold the ball. I have not had one reject yet.
- The warp shot at this stage is just like any other combo shot.
- The shot under the upper right flipper is far far easier than that of SM and when lit allows you to start a mode.
- Photon shot just awards points (afaik)
- The sounds are true to the theme and are great.
- The modes are dissapointing. Same old light everything and shoot it enough times to finish it. This is the worst part about the game.
- The standup target to the right of the centre lock shot under the ship is the same as mystery on Avengers, the scoop on Xmen and the saucer on TF. When lit this adds a ball when in multiball.

Ther is a lot of wank factor going on there! Light show looks cool, it looks a bit too busy for me.
Then again I have just bought a BIG BUCK HUNTER PRO - less is more for me I guess.
Looking forward to taking Star Trek for a spin around the block though
Nice video, thanks

a few more from RGR

utoplay=1&rel=0

interesting ball return behind the top right flipper to the shooter lane and like the ball launch light and sound sequence, and great to see some RGB led effects in a pro  ^^^, I didn't mind the game and good to see a video with a good player playing it.

Amazing that the first game play video is released from Aus, you would think Stern would release video when they release the photos etc. Anyway, not a bad game and I am not a hater or lover of Star Trek shows.

Hi all

I got a few games in on ST 2013 which was at Pinfest over the weekend – we also played it at The Commercial Hotel in the wee hours of Sunday morning.
In total I played around 6 games on it and watched probably the same amount.

I didnt expect a whole lot ( different ) to recent releases before I stepped up to the flippers.
I have to say that I found it quite surprisingly good to play.
The look of the game is VERY VERY bright so it is easy to see whats going on at all times which is great.
The DMD screen is angled backwards slightly to reduce glare on the playfield – which works quite well.
The shots are nice to hit – especially the shot to the left mid ramp from the right upper flipper that sees the ball FLY around and return to that flipper in quick fashion.
The modes are colour coded and the shots you need to hit within each mode are lit by colour changing LEDs to indicate the shots you have to make in that mode.
The shot to lock balls on the left is a pretty tough one to nail – have to hit right off the tip of the right flipper – so a good challenge to achieve that.
Didnt mind the translate or the playfield art to be honest – both of which I think are not overdone , but fairly basic at the same time – to me it works OK.

There would be a whole lot of stuff ‘locked away’ in the game that simply due to not enough time spent on it , we didn’t get to see.
I know that someone saw the centre ball lock ( behind the target / under the ship ) throw the ball back hard ( like War Machine in Iron Man or the back thrower in Jurassic Park ) apparently, but I didn’t experience or witness this myself.

Overall it felt good to play , really good to be honest – very flowy of course , it looked OK nd seemd to be a decent package.

HOWEVER – with all of that said and all of the good comments made by dozens and dozens of people that spent time on it  - ALL of us said as good as the game felt and looked .......NONE of us would be buying it, based on one thing.....................PRICE.

Oh - and if you want a game that has ALL the 'wank-factor' and NOTHING to show for it - well I will just say there is another recent release that we also got to spend a lot of time on this past weekend - ALL show and absolutely NO go  #@#
