I like the XMen Magneto for cabinet art...

and ACDC LE for gameplay (in the late model machines)

"Best money earner in its first 12 months sited worldwide ?"

That's an easy one - Meteor.

Over 8000 units made during the "golden era" of pinball, when pinball ruled the roost. I remember this was the only Stern on location to rival the Ballys, and I remember the cash box was full on many occasions.

Love my Meteor, will never sell it, one awesome target game!  ^^^

Yeah remember really enjoying it, but what was it that made the game? Nothing stands out in my memory that said put coins in it over others. Btw I am talking about the meteor

Sound is awesome, and targets are easy to knock down in multiples. Was one of first to remember what targets had been dropped previous ball. Also first game I believe that showed the high score in the displays, just before you play last ball

that's right the sound that went mad when you started to cane the game. I did like that and tried to keep scoring to see if the sound would just overload. got the heart rate up

The game was drop target heaven. Stern had designers create shots where you could hit all three targets on a target bank from 90 degrees to the flippers. Absolute magic to knock over targets this way. I think this title is the fastest Classic Stern ever made - Galaxy was also a fast game as was Nineball. But Meteor was faster than ANY game from the Classic era. An absolute blast to play. I would recommend this title to anyone looking at their first SS game.

A member here's uncle picked up a $200.00 one locally - I would have been all over it if I'd seen the ad - terrific game. The drops always made me think of Joker Poker, but Meteor was JP on whatever James Hird was feeding the players last year........

Really enjoy my Meteor. Never get sick of sweeping the target banks and the increasing pulsating sounds the longer you keep the ball in play really gets you involved.

They were very popular in Sydney arcades after their release. Many sites had 2 or more and they were played a lot. I think that the local machines were assembled somewhere in Australia, possibly Newcastle? Could somebody confirm.
