It is great that reproduction cabinet are available, but I will still need all the hardware that goes in the cabinet

I have just bought an Xs & Os that is complete
This will give me some generic parts for the playfield, and hopefully most parts for the cabinet and back box

Will still need to get the proper speech board, and target banks for the playfield

This could work ;)

The only other things I can think of is the lockdown bar receiver is a lighter gauge of steel and the backglass lift is now plastic instead of chrome steel like the earlier machines.

Wait for a project game on fleabay / bumtree.
Squalk and Talk - I found a couple of ebay sellers in the USA that were refurbishing and selling at reasonable prices (4-5 years ago)

Contact Bill in Williamstown as I think he had a few old playfields and cabinets.

Yes, I forgot about that. I replaced mine for the earlier pointed plunger. Can't remember why now.

Found a populated playfield for the LE version
No lamp boards so will convert back to original

First of the dumb questions;
Is the standard apron plain white?

Original EBD is white and yellow. Bally/Midway version is black.

Could swap the LE playfield version with a CPR. Have the guys at HRP build a cabinet. Looks promising..  #@#

Yep, this has me excited
The donor playfield has the drop target mechs , and they are in good condition
Most of the other mechs are not so good, I will spend the weekend tearing it apart and seeing what can be salvaged

But most topside parts  (posts, targets, plastics) were going to get replaced any way

Another positive is the art on the apron, I had bought a decal from pinball rescue (?) and was going to use it on a Flash Gordon, EBD uses the same decal

not sure if you need or want a playfield

https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/bally-eight-ball-deluxe-playfield-ipb-repro
thanks for that
I have the playfield (CPR), plastics, front door, most boards, the three unobtainium drop target mechs, a translight (that will do for now), legs

I said earlier that I had bought a X's & O's that I was going to part out and use for this project.
but after seeing Crashramps Kings of Steel, I just cannot destroy a game that is in fairly good condition
so I will have to find another donor game that I can strip for parts and fit in a new cabinet

this is all the parts that make up the main drop target bank
I wont even try to clean up the parts, I will just take them and get them zinc plated
hopefully the switches will clean up easily
just need to replace the drop targets and the target faces

other parts I will try and use gun blue

It's a complex mech isn't it.  So many parts
