Rfm help neededL
« on: November 04, 2010, 09:47:53 PM »
FFS. It's the wifes 30th on Saturday so I've spent the week cleaning the shed etc turned on revenge for a game and the screen was mostly red. Made a buzz now there is no screen at all.

So which part do I hit with a hammer??????

Any advice would be great

Dan, spoke to Beaky, he fixed one just like this. Beaky will phone ya shortly.

Will get him to stand with my machine and u guys can fault find at the same time as he measures outputs/inputs with a meter to determine where the issue is.

She will be apples.  ^^^

Try the simple things first, Daniel. could be a connector from the chassis to the tube. Unlpug the power before doing anything.

Massive thank you to cavey and beaky Andrew gave mRNA few pointers which steered menin the right direction and also made me alot happier that he has come across the same issues with a simple fix.

Turned out to be dry joints on the input plug causing the  color issue the buzz and complete loss of picture was from a completely rooted solder joint on the flyback transformer.

Reflowed all the flyback and connector joints a few adjstments (brightness was full up to compensate for the fault I'd say).  Now the screen is super bright and clear.

Thanks again to everyone another win for the great community on AP $&&

Except after Caveman's last comment I can't get the image of a guy in a wheelchair fixing a pinny with a screwdriver in his mouth!!

And talking like Black Hole!!

Nick, here is a even better picture to keep in ya head.

I call Andy, every day at work, I call him RUPRETTE (did you see the movie with that comedian Steve Martin and that English guy Michael Cane) RUPRETTE is the nutty guy in the wheelchair who acts like a complete wombat.

Sometimes, my clients think Andys real name is RUPRETTE. LOL

I give him heaps, and he is saving up to hit me again with his homemade TAZER, whilst he laughs and watchs me hit the floor.  :D @.@

It's only you and me that thinks i'm a rupret, or do the customers really think i am rupret?
and yes that TAZER is coming along fine, it now reaches 6000 volts with out zapping the operator, one of these days  *!@ ^&(

any way I was glad to be of help to ddtoys.
I have had a little bit to do with video monitors in the past. Plus it's a lot easier when people like dan give me an excellent discrip-tion of the faults.
