Stern USA - John Borgs next title due >
« on: April 04, 2015, 01:50:04 AM »
Being one of the luckiest pinheads in the world, I have been fortunate to have been able to communicate with Johnny Borg from Stern USA.

You wouldn't get a nicer bloke in the world and such a down to earth fellow who is a pleasure to deal with.

Just 5 mins ago I got a message and to my surprise, he mentioned his next title is due at the end of April or Mid May for release. I was completely surprised because he just finished The Walking Dead but he said that he has been working flat out on the new game since finishing TWDead and his new game is ready.

A big surprise because I thought his next title was going to be 6 months away, not a handful of weeks away.

He described the new game as being very exciting.

I was badly wanted to ask what it was or a hint but I know the rules.
I have been lucky enough to have had contact with Borgy of the last few years and it's always a treat.

John Borg , in my opinion is the best pinball designer in the world. His games are genius. I have a lot of his titles and never get bored ever.

Can't wait for his new game to come out very very soon.

Just wish I had a clue as to what the theme or game is going to be.

Go Stern. Go John Borg. Legend.

I was blown away when Johnny Borg just dropped me a personal message.

He did say that although it just seems like he just finished The Walking Dead, he had started on his NEXT title instantly and the new title was already ready for production since he had been working on the new one flat out since Walking Dead was finished from a design point of view.

He said that the next title was most most Exciting and it seemed like it was going to be a HUGE surprise and people would be excited as well.

John Borg is the worlds best designer in my book and he can design a successful layout quicker and more efficiently than any other in my mind. He has it down to a fine art by now.
Each design is so different but retains the Borgy feel. His shot choice and flow is second to none.

I am dying to see what is coming out next.
Usually we all have a few ideas but on this next title, I don't have a clue at all.
That was the huge surprise on this title coming out so soon.
Hopefully the factory move won't put the schedule out but he did say May at latest so I am waiting and watching with interest.

Stern is my favourite company. Car and jetski companies used to be, but John Borg is a genius and nothing is as fun as a John Borg pinball machine.

A lot of his titles are awesome players and look the part.

What this next title is has me excited but stumped. It's all good. Makes it even more fun and interesting.
Like being surprised. That's a great quality of pinball. What cool surprise is around the corner.

Was just thinking tonight, would love to see Borgy do a Mad Max - Fury Road Pinball. (Movie due out May 15 in Australia starring Star Trek Insurrection Star Tom Hardy as Mad Max and three more movies to follow in this new series).

That would be a cool Borgy Pinny.

There is a new Star Wars movie due late this year "STAR WARS: EPISODE VII THE FORCE AWAKENS".  Could it be a Star Wars pin?

Stern's recently asked on Facebook what people thought their favourite spaceship was.  But these posting are often teases that don't point to the next release.

Fast n Furious certainly sounds like it would fit in with Johns description of EXCITING.

Although I am not a fan of the Fast n Furious franchise at all (Vin Diesel is only good IMO in Sci Fi movies and the cars in Fast n Furious fly like the car in Back to the Future. Lol) but I am guessing the Fast n Furious pinball will be a big seller in the USA and will be popular on site for all ages IF it turns out to be reality.

I would have loved to have seen a Sci Fi title with a futuristic theme but Stern just did Star Trek so it might be a while before we get another theme like that ?

I wonder if Stern would ever do another car themed pinball like Mustang, but say a CHEVEROLET pinny.
Mustang did well apparently in the states and Europe but your not going to put a FORD Pinny in your house if you are a Chevy man.

So many great themes to do. It's just not Borgy pumping out great titles now, there's also Steve Ritchie and John Trudeau plus at least 3 other designers now on the payroll. Stern is going great guns of late. Happy days ahead.

That would be interesting.
The spaceship reference was a very interesting tease for sure.
I am glad George Lucas sold the franchise. I watched a documentary about him and he was one tight miserable Scrooge. All the famous Star Wars cast disliked him for many reasons but being a tight arse was a common complaint.
His licence fees would have been excessive to say the least.
He sold the Star Wars licence for 2 Billion dollars. WTF ! What company thought they were going to get their money back this century ? ?

I wish Stern had of done a Stargate Atlantis pinny.
Has Star Wars been done to death for us mid forty year olds ?
