Your so close Rob adjust the swithces back to the way it was when it reset and try other avenues to fix the motor before giving up your man hood lol

Rob .. Never give up! Just think how you'll feel when its working .

Here's my 2 cents
1) As Daniel suggested out the score reel switches back the way they were
2) Before you turn it on again, set all reels to 0 and manually reset all steppers.
3) Turn it on and start a game.
As it is now, the score motor is still running because the reset sequence has not completed for some reason.
I've been caught out more than once where a stepper has not reset properly when I've hit the start button and the score motor keeps running as a result.
Cheers
Dave

ummmmmm well it seems like im determined to get this thread to 50 pages so here it goes...

The last test i performed was not quite accurate. I feel very stupid as i didnt plug in the headbox.... now that i did plug it in  !@) (with Daniels configuration) the score reel clicked over to 5 (as soon as i plugged in the power and not sure what number it was on before) then i hit the start button and the 100 score reel just kept ticking over and over again...

Dave I agree i just cant let it go and as i type this i look over at her and i can feel her laughing at me  :lol

will continue testing...

OH MY GOD.... YES YES YES YES YES YES we have success!!!!!! #*# $#$

Ok as soon as Daniel said stepper unit it triggered a memory of last night at the meet where Tony (who also took a look at the headbox) noticed that the ball count step unit wasnt sitting on the first contact point. So i ran outside, started it up again and it ticked away again and again. So i fiddled with the stepper by hand and made the first contact... yeeehhhhhaaaaaaaaa the score reel stopped ticking. played a full game hit lots of 100 pointers and no coil sticking  $#$ Finished that game and started another... ticking over so i stepped it again, played another game and ran inside to type this!!!! So now i just need to adjust the ball count stepper and i think im there!!!! ^^^

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks heaps guys!!!!!

2 more things to do before the restore,

1. Fix the damn stepper (yes i know 18 more pages  <.> )
2. Flipper rebuilds with the kits i bought off PBR.

And yes Daniel i am a bit of a dumb ass but with you guys on my side, even that was overcome... PHEW!!  !@)

Congrats mate, both on getting this thing to work, and on the longest repair thread in the history of pinball.

It might have been difficult but the feeling of getting it working is marvellous.

Great work Rob it was well worth the effort that first game makes it all worth while.    Stepper units once cleaned and lubed correctly should have this machine running for ages without fault once your ready ask away and we can explain the best way to do this
